Is this an “inspirational moment?” I say it is, because it proves to me that the students can be clever, I just hope I can get them to focus their talents toward academics:
As our group was walking through the doorway into the stairwell, leaving the science room to use the computer lab, I noticed one of my students, the last one of us to walk through the door, making eyes at a girl walking in the opposite direction of us. She was looking back at him, with a little glimmer in her eye. He waited, holding the door for the girl, then dropped it on her just as she was walking though. A second later, after she passed though:
Me “Hey R--, you’re supposed to HOLD the door for a lady.
R-- (without missing a beat): “Oh, I didn’t know that was a lady.” |
